Does anyone have a sweet fried cornbread recipe?

I recently went to the Feast of the Hunters Moon and they make the best corndbread. I know it has to be simple and is from the 1700's. I've looked for recipes on-line but nothing compares. Does anyone have a sweet recipe?Does anyone have a sweet fried cornbread recipe?

2 cups self-rising cornmeal

2 tablespoons sugar (adjustable to taste)

2 tablespoons mayo

3 cups milk

in large iron skillet pour oil to coat and stand 1/4 inch in the pan and heat....

mix well....you want the batter to be loose (like pancake batter) so add more milk if needed..(taste the batter to see if sweet enough.) Pour batter into hot oil and cook like pancakes....making sure you keep the temp adjusted not to burn them...add oil as necessary
