I plan to make some for Thanksgiving and heard some people use cream of onion and cream of mushroom to make it taste better. Thanks for everyone who answers.Anyone have any good cornbread dressing recipes?
I make it home made and I use a combo of cream of chicken and stock. It gives it great flavor and helps to make it moistAnyone have any good cornbread dressing recipes?
Yea I use corn muffins 6 and 4 slices of white bread and add about 1c chicken broth, 1/4c. chpd onion, 2 T. celery minced, 1-2tsp poultry seasoning, 11/2 tsp. sage, and what I do is cook the corn muffins, crumble them in a bowl, tear into thin pieces the other bread, add vegies and seasoning and enough chicken broth to soften all, then refrigerate eovernight and when your ready to cook it add about 2-4 T. butter to the top and cook for until cooked through kinda crusty on top but moist inside in a casserole dish, everyone Ive made this for loves it
Make it easy on yourself. Pepperidge Farms makes great stuffing bread. Use one cornbread and one bread crumbs. Cook diced celery and onion in one stick of melted butter until soft. Add 4 cans of chicken broth, canned is fine. Heat to almost boiling and pour over bread. Use a very large bowl or pan. Add 3 tablespoons salt, 2 table spoons black pepper and 5 tablespoons sage or poultry seasonings.

Mix well and do a taste test. Add more of the seasonings to suit your taste. If stuffing seems to be to dry add more broth or water. You don't want it soupy. Pour into baking dish and bake for about 20 minutes at 325. Remember everything is already cooked, you just want to bake to heat it through and brown the top.
are you talking about a homemade stuffing or one from a box?
um...suger?
